Interconnection of Photovoltaic Power Plant in Drepano, Kozani
400 kV
Substation and extra high voltage transmission line
Challenges
Spatial Restrictions: The site is located in close proximity to the villages of Drepano and Galani, which limits the options for the development of the EHVSS. Distance restrictions from residential areas had to be taken into account to minimise visual and acoustic impact.
Existence of Infrastructure: There are underground oil pipelines and existing transmission lines in the area, which necessitated a detailed analysis to avoid overlap and risks during the development of the EHVSS and the new EHV transmission line.
How the project will be completed
Site assessment for the MV/400kV Substation: Initially, an analysis of the area was carried out with detailed surveys and geophysical studies. These studies identified the most suitable locations for the EHVSS, taking into account the proximity to populated areas, existing infrastructure and environmental conditions.
Collaboration with Local Authorities: In order to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, meetings were held with local authorities and competent bodies. This facilitated an understanding of local needs and constraints and ensured support for the project implementation.
